It was built by Yusuf of Granada, on ground where there was a lighthouse. The castle was the subject of heated by the Catholic King during the summer of 1487.

Gibralfaro Castle is a fortress located in the city of Málaga, Andalucía (Spain).

It was built during the fourteenth century by Yusuf I of Granada, on an ancient Phoenician site also contained a lighthouse that gives its name to the hill Gibralfaro (Jbel-Faro, or mountain of light). The castle was under heavy siege by the Catholic Monarchs during the summer of 1487. After the siege, Ferdinand took as the residence, while Isabel I of Castile chose to live in the city.

The queen Isabel I of Castilla, lived in this place.
It´s more than one thousand four hundred eighty seven yeards old. Before, it was for defense of Alcazaba, but now,you can visit it with a tourist bus, and, there you can see lots of places very beautiful of Malaga. Gibralfaro´s castle has got a small museum of the diary live in it. It Also has got soldiers. The tourist can visit it every days. It´s a very beautiful castle and very impressive!

It h as one hundred and thirty meters.This castle is nex to the Alcazaba castle,connected by walls, called la Coracha.Before in this castle there was a lighthouse. From this castle you can see Malaga, the sea and mountains. It Is fantastic!
